Arthur,
Great point - It's true that Wordpress has some great SEO features and plugins. We use it ourselves in a number of our websites. However two things:

1. Not everyone wants to use WP for their artist website - there are thousands of great website platforms on the market, each with its own strengths and weaknesses.

2. In our experience, the key to success comes first from understanding the problem or the need and then using the tools to solve the problem.

Our SEO product was designed to explain the basics to a broad spectrum of artists at different levels of technical understanding. They can then go use any platform they choose and have a good basis for their SEO success.

Sue,
Thanks for the wonderful compliments! To answer your P.S. question:

First of all, a general disclaimer! The only people who fully know how the search engine algorithyms (I can't remember how to spell that this afternoon!) make their analysis are the people who program them - and the methods are constantly changing.

That said, here is my opinion on your question: It comes back to what I said on the call - search engines are looking for natural behavior. If you continuously repeat keywords on a page it could be characterized as "keyword spam" and not work well for you. But then on the other hand, you need to have enough "keyword density" for a given keyword on a page for it to be noted as an important keyword for the page. Keyword density is a whole world that you probably don't want to get into!

I think that if you focus on the "natural behavior" concept and keep things in balance you should be OK.

SUPER SUPER SUPER! That's all I can say! I originally didn't think I'd listen to this Ask Call, as I have so much on my plate as it is (doing actual art and meeting deadlines, etc.) - and "technical" computer stuff usually just confuses the heck out of me - because they talk "over your head computer-speak" - but I thought, what the heck - I can always pass along any tips to whoever I find to do my computer work ... but OMG, I never expected to get this much out of Daniel's call! I understood EVERY WORD! He makes it so simple to understand! And to think -- I spent hundreds on supposed "promotion" companies who claimed to submit you to X amount of search engines - numerous times over a certain amount of time, fix your meta tags, get you X amount of reciprocal links, etc... and NONE of what they CLAIMED I needed (and what I paid for) was in Daniel's top 3 for SEO!! Unbelievable!

Wish I would have heard of Daniel and his program years ago! Thank you Tara & Daniel! I'll be telling everyone I know about your program Daniel!

P.S. One question I did have after listening was - I've been told you're not suppose to REPEAT words in your keyword or metatag section -- is this true? Like primitive art, whimsical art, primitive patterns, etc. -- those would have duplicate words.

Tara,
I do all my own SEO for my blog and for others and there are tools that you can add to wordpress blogs and this kind of information is free. I clicked on the link which took me to the landing page and then on to the website but did not see any affiliate sign up link. So where is the affiliate link?

Tara, the link to “5 Tips to get Links to Your Website” that you posted in the PS part of your entry is turning an "error" message. Perhaps you want to check it? Cheers.

Thank you Tara and Daniel for great resource! Sorry I couldn't make it to the call, too pre-occupied recently....
Anyway, I just wrote a blog post about actually seeing how SEO works "SEO for Artists Example" after it took me awhile to really see it works.... you can read it here: http://www.mikanovsky.com/blog/2010/02/19/seo-for-artists-example/
