The history of the Art Licensing Blog…

The Art Licensing Blog is a piece of the larger “Art Licensing Info” family of websites.

Licensed artist Tara Reed began the growing list of sites in 2008 to provide the kind of information and resources she wished she had when starting out in licensing. Tara’s goal is to combine her business background, experience in the industry, and love of teaching, to help artists grow their business without breaking the bank.

With the addition of Paul Brent’s expertise in 2009 and more experts since then, the mission of “Art Licensing Info” is provide artists with a variety of ways to learn about the art licensing industry from artists and experts in the field.  Other experts who have contributed include Mary Engelbreit, Debbie Mumm, Jill Seale, Dena of Dena Designs, Drew Brophy, agent Suzanne Cruise and Attorney Cheryl Hodgson, among others.  Learn more about who is involved in the sites…

Licensed Artist Tara Reed - founder of ArtLicensingInfo.comTara Reed blogs several times a week, providing information, inspiration and tools for artists to learn about and thrive in the art licensing industry.  She also does live and radio interviews, teaches and more.

Individual Question Policy

I regret that due to the sheer volume of email I receive, I can’t directly answer questions concerning individual situations from artists who are not coaching clients. I am happy, however, to consider your question for a topic for a future blog post or for the next Art Licensing Info Ask Call. By answering your question in public discourse, my hope is that it will also benefit many other artists.

I will add your question to the possible questions to be answered on the next Art Licensing Info Ask Call – find out the date, time and expert at

Need information sooner? Many answers might already be available to you on the Art Licensing Blog. The FAQ tab is a great place to start or use the search box to look for a topic. I’ve been blogging since 2008 so there is a lot of information to be found there!

Also look at the multitude of questions that have been answered since December 2004 on the Art Licensing Info Ask Call Series. Some replays are available for a fee – see all the guests and what we discussed at

I’ll consider all legitimate questions, but I can’t promise anything. (Hey! It’s free!)

Guest Post GirlArt Licensing Blog Guest Post Policy:

I only publish Guest Posts by artists or experts who work in the art licensing industry.  I believe the readers of this blog expect posts to be related to the industry and not random posts about getting out of debt, how to buy a car or other quite unrelated topics.  My goal is to maintain the quality of the content and the integrity of the blog first and foremost.

While I appreciate the offers, many are turned down.

If you ARE in the art licensing industry and have blogged about a topic you think would be relevant to the readers of this blog, or are interested in having me post your information here as a guest post, I’m open to looking at the content and deciding if it is a fit.  Feel free to send an email and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
