Original Mock-Up Magic Close-Out sale!

All good things must come to an end… or in this case, the original has been improved upon, I’m getting ready to move, so I’m having a close-out sale on the 9 Original Mock-Up Magic CD’s I have in my studio. :)

  • Have you been told that it is a good idea to show how your art looks on products?
  • Have you ever spent time and money physically making product samples?  Maybe you went to a paint-your-own pottery store… or glued art on gift bags, boxes, and more…
  • Have you ever scratched your head and thought, “There has to be a better way?”

Product Mock-Up Magic came from me believing there was a better way and deciding that every artist didn’t need to reinvent the wheel. These photos are designed to show how your work could look on products, that you really understand how licensing works and to get the creative juices flowing for the manufacturers – they are not intended to be used for product development – just marketing purposes.  Make sense?  I show a few samples in my marketing materials for every collection I create – they see the art and they see some ideas of how it can be applied to a variety of products.

The original was so well received that I added a Kitchen and Bath edition and a Deluxe that included everything.  Since the Deluxe came out, 99% of artists go that route. I’ve decided it’s time to clear out the remaining stock of the Original edition.

I have 9 copies of the Original Mock-Up Magic and when they are gone they are gone.  Normally $87, they are on close-out for $55 – but only while supplies last.

Here is what you get:

• 9 Video Tutorials (2 hours worth) – Over-the-shoulder instruction on how to apply repeat patterns to the photos (videos show the Photoshop CS3 environment but work in all versions of Photoshop with the possible exception of Photoshop Elements – not sure about that one.) * The video tutorials focus on applying repeat borders and patterns so I recommend you know how to create them first *

The feedback is coming in for "Product Mock-Up Magic"…

… and artists are loving it!

MockUp-CdCaseI’ve told you what it is…

• 46 Photoshop™ (.psd) or PNG files with professional photographs of stationery, tabletop and gift industry products. The backgrounds have already been removed so they are ready to use for presentation and portfolio mock-ups.

• 9 video tutorials with more than 2 hours of ‘over the shoulder’ live-streaming instruction. Watch artist Tara Reed apply patterns and learn from a few mistakes along the way! (Then you will feel better when you make them too – right?)

here is what a few artists who have purchased it are saying…

“I was so excited to receive the Product Mock-up Magic CD today. I just finished watching all of the video tutorials. You did a great job! It was amazing to watch you work. I devoured every word you spoke and every move you made with the cursor. Now, I’m truly inspired to create my own mock-up designs and market them to manufacturers.”

– Michael Campbell, artist

“Tara Reed’s Product Mock-Up Magic saves me time and makes my life easier.  With the product templates provided, all I have to do is drop my artwork onto the templates and make revisions. Now I can focus on designing.”

– Liz Revit, artist

“I absolutely love Tara’s Product Mock-Up Magic video tutorials! The lessons are very easy to follow, cover many tools and techniques. Even as a fairly seasoned Photoshop user, I learned many new tips and shortcuts that I did not know before. However, I think this product will be a revelation for beginners. My product mock ups previously were very flat in appearance. The library of blank product images supplied with the dvd will help me produce realistic product mock-ups very efficiently. I hope Tara will develop an entire series of video tutorials on a range of skills for licensed artists.”

Product Mock-Up Magic is an invaluable tool for any artist looking to license their art. Being able to take your art and show manufacturers that you understand how it can work on products shows that you understand and are serious about the business of licensing. That you are a professional. And sometimes, it just gives them ideas they may not have had looking at the ‘pieces’ (images, borders, patterns, etc.)

When you place several mocked-up examples together for presentation, add “These are mock-up ideas, all designs are available for license” – that way there is no confusion about wether your art is already licensed or not. When you show actual licensed products, be sure to add something like this: “product manufacturered by XYZ company using my art under license.”

Showing how your art looks on products just got a whole lot easier!

I feel like I just gave birth… not to a child this time but to a project that has been developing for months.  And this blog post serves as a ‘baby announcement’ of sorts because the baby is here, I couldn’t be more delighted, tired and proud to tell the world!

MockUp-CdCaseThis is my first physical product that must be delivered by mail and not by digital download.  Why?  Because it has too many pieces and too much content.

What you get:

• 46 Photoshop™ (.psd) or PNG files with professional photographs of stationery, tabletop and gift industry products. The backgrounds have already been removed so they are ready to use for presentation and portfolio mock-ups.

• 9 video tutorials with more than 2 hours of ‘over the shoulder’ live-streaming instruction. Watch artist Tara Reed apply patterns and learn from a few mistakes along the way! (Then you will feel better when you make them too – right?)

What you need:

Photoshop™ (the video tutorials show CS3 screens but the concepts should work with most professional versions of Photoshop™)

Art that you want to show on products.
The tutorials focus on placing repeat patterns and borders on the product photos but you can use the same concepts for more illustrative art as well. If you don’t know how to create repeat borders & patterns and save the patterns to the pre-set manager in Photoshop, I highly recommend you consider working through the Repeat Pattern eBooks before buying this product.

CD drive on your computer to access the product photo files and video tutorials.

"How did you make those cool images on your website?"

I spent the other day laser-focused on cleaning up the ArtLicensingInfo.com website. In the 15 months since it’s inception, it has gone through at least 3 re-designs (including the original design).  As it has grown, it got a bit busy.  We have added so many ways to get information that I was afraid no one could figure out where to start.

Maybe I’m projecting my issues on you – I like a site that I can quickly skim and see my choices, without the need to read a lot of text.  I wanted to make it faster to figure out, more visually interesting and still get the job done.  If you go to the home page of ArtLicensingInfo.com you will see some cool graphics including post-it notes, a stack of books and a video screen that links to the newly created “Art Licensing Info” channel on YouTube.  (More on that later – sort of like ‘separation of church and state’ I’m doing some business sorting…)

“How did you make those cool images on the website???”  I’m glad you ask!

Well wasn’t it convenient that the week before I got the newly released “Cover Action Pro 2″ software for Photoshop™.  Yet another wonderful find as a result of a random tweet I read one July day on Twitter.

With so many people doing internet marketing, Mark Monciardini took his technical skills and made a quick and easy way for people to raise the bar on the way they visually present products.  From book covers to gift cards, post-it notes to CDs and a whole lot more – it’s quick and it’s simple!  It is one of those ‘investment’ software products that I’m sure I’ll find uses for for years to come.
